I am this close to personally hunting down the mangaka if Gojo Satoru is dead in the most recent chapter of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. Because really, can us fans not have a single moment of respite with this story? Haven’t we suffered enough? Okay, seriously though, ever since Gojo got released from the Prison Realm, things have been seriously hyping up in Jujutsu Kaisen. And this current power tussle between him and Sukuna is extremely cut throat.
But is Gojo Satoru dead? Not yet! Sure, the long-awaited rematch between Gojo and Ryomen Sukuna has begun, and Sukuna did manage to land a hit on Gojo. Both of them released their Domain Expansions at the same time, leading to a feedback loop where Sukuna’s attack bypassed Gojo’s Infinity Barrier. But that doesn’t mean our favorite white haired Sorcerer is out of the game just yet. But it also doesn’t spell anything good considering that is the first time we’ve seen anyone get close to hurting Gojo.
However, Gojo is the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer alive in the game right now. By now, we’ve only seen a fraction of his power. If he goes full-on, this match can easily tip in his favor. But there are certain factors at play that definitely limit him. The one that actually scares me, however, is the mangaka’s ruthlessness. Gege Akutama is known for killing fan favorite characters out of nowhere, meaning no one is safe in Jujutsu Kaisen. And they already said that the series is reaching its end.
So, does that mean that we might find Gojo Satoru dead in the next few chapters? I sure hope not, because the entire internet will riot. And I’ll be spearheading the campaign here. But how close are we to truly losing Gojo Satoru? I mean, this is the battle that everyone was looking forward to, so the stakes are high here. And with Jujutsu Kaisen, anything goes. So today, let’s discuss why Gojo and Sukuna will be pushed to their limits in another round of Lore Analysis!

Chapter 236: The Outcome
When we first saw that battle between Gojo and a Sukuna that was inhabiting Yuji Itadori, Sukuna only had the power of one finger. And that alone, as a Cursed Object, gave him enough power to impress Gojo. This Sukuna, however, not only has consumed nearly all of the 20 fingers, but also possessed Megumi Fushigoro, who is more trained than Yuji ever was and happens to be Gojo’s own pupil.
And we all know that Gojo truly cares about his students, rebelling against the Sorcerer’s Society solely because he wants to make the world a better place for the next generation of Sorcerers. Obviously, Megumi means a lot to him as well, so fighting him should be a hindrance, right? Except not really, because Gojo himself expressed that he won’t be holding back, even if it’s Megumi.
If anything, Sukuna in Megumi’s body reminds Gojo of Toji Fushigoro, an assassin that he loathed and Megumi’s estranged father. So, that’s covered. I mean, he doesn’t want Megumi to die, obviously. But that he’ll ‘care about it after he’s done fighting Sukuna’. That is a very specific sentiment, because that means Gojo was still very confident in his ability to completely decimate Sukuna, which is comforting.
However, during his death, Gojo has officially admitted that Sukuna would’ve defeated him regardless if he had Ten Shadows or not!
Gojo Is Dead
But just because Gojo Satoru believes that he is stronger than Sukuna, doesn’t mean it’s an automatic win. Let’s not forget, Sukuna and Gojo are technically cut from the same cloth. Both are at the top of their respective hierarchies. If Gojo is the most powerful Sorcerer, then Sukuna is the ‘King Of Curses’.
And both of them acknowledge it. They have a weirdly easy conversation going on throughout their interaction, as if they know that they can be cocky around each other. After all, who can catch up to either of them? They know this battle is between them, and to the victor goes the spoils. At the same time, maybe Gojo is talking callously because he doesn’t want to reveal any of his weaknesses to Sukuna, who preys upon them.
This feels like the calm before the storm, however. Right now, both of them are trying their best to find any crack in each other’s armor, and it feels like Sukuna found the first one. Now that he’s managed to actually touch Gojo due to the Infinity Barrier breaking down. But Gojo still has the Limitless Technique and the Six Eyes Technique to fall back on, so.
And that’s when the curtain falls folks! Gojo Satoru is officially dead. That’s D.E.A.D for you. With Sukuna finally besting him entirely, Gojo Satoru has hit the bucket in chapter 236 of Jujutsu Kaisen!
All in all, this is going to be one match that will cut it extremely close. Here’s hoping Gege chills out and doesn’t kill off Gojo, even if it would be kind of metal. But I guess we’ll find out in a week or so!
