You know, out of all the newer Shonen that have taken over, none caught my attention more than Jujutsu Kaisen. It’s just got that ‘it’ factor, you know? As a proud Naruto Shippuden fangirl, there is just something so familiar about Jujutsu Kaisen, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Perhaps it is the whole ‘puppy dog’ protagonist with a demonic being inside thing. Or maybe it’s because of a certain white-haired mentor with a magical eye ability known as Gojo Satoru is currently out of commission?
Listen, we all know Gojo Satoru is going to be unsealed eventually. It’s just a matter of time – a lot of time. However, I get why fans are antsy. It’s been a while since the man was sealed following the event of the Shibuya arc, and we have had no hints of if he’ll be released, let alone when. Jujutsu Kaisen is known for pulling the rug from underneath us regarding its characters’ mortality. You can never feel safe having a favorite character in that franchise.
But that also happens to be why Jujutsu Kaisen is so beloved. Despite it being effortlessly cool with its characters and how casual their interactions can be, the actual plot is very high stakes. No matter how popular the character is, they aren’t safe from the possibility of the mangaka killing them off. Being a sorcerer is a risky business, make no mistake.
But the thing is Gojo Satoru was the best of the best. Even in polls on the internet, he is often the most popular character in the entire franchise. Sealing him was such a frightening move because, for the longest time, people thought it meant he was dead. Thankfully, he isn’t. But when are we going to see him back in action? Welcome to Lore Analysis – where we answer your questions about all things plot! So, let’s get down to it.

Gojo Satoru: A Threat To Curses And Sorcerers Alike?
The thing with Gojo is that he’s a bit of a rebel. An anarchist, even. Okay, maybe that second one is an exaggeration but it’s no surprise that Gojo constantly butts heads with the seniors of the Sorcerer world for his beliefs and ideologies.
The sorcerers believe in maintaining a status quo that leans toward conserving outdated notions and practices. Conversely, Gojo wants to rebuild the Jujutsu world from the bottom up through education with no discrimination. He wants to cultivate a generation of new sorcerers that could be his equals instead of his subordinates.
It’s a romantic notion from a man that seems so chill. You wouldn’t expect him to have these ideals, but his status in the Sorcerer realm makes him such a threat. To curses, he’s the strongest predator. To his fellow sorcerers, he’s too much of a wildcard that needs to be subdued.
So, when the Shibuya Incident happens, the geezers in the sorcerer realm finally have a scapegoat. They placed the entire responsibility for all the terrible things that happened on Gojo’s shoulders and trapped him in the Prison Realm as punishment. Thus, taking out the threat to their positions effectively.
How Is Gojo Getting Unsealed From His Prison?
So, considering how much of a hit Team Gojo took with Nobara Kugisaki and Yuji Itadori seemingly dead, how are we getting Gojo back? Like Fushiguro Megumi is strong, he can’t take on the higher-ups alone. And he certainly doesn’t know how to break someone out of their prison.
But Master Tengen says there is a sorcerer out there who can. Hana Kurusu, also known as Angel, is unreliable. She’s one of the few participating in the Culling Game, and we don’t know much about her. But we do know her ability, which is being able to neutralize someone else’s Cursed Technique, even going as far as to open the back of a Prison Realm.
Yuji, Megumi, and Yuta Okkotsu were tasked to find her. And, luckily, she’s already made contact with Megumi. Of course, it begs to be seen if she’ll help the gang out. But hey, at least we are just that much closer to finally seeing some progress on Gojo’s front after so long.
It’s only a matter of time before he’s out now!
