Daemons of the Shadow Realm

Yuru lives a quiet life in a remote mountain village watched over by two stone guardians. His closest remaining family is his twin sister, Asa, but her life is very different from his: she is kept inside a cage while carrying out a mysterious duty for the village.

Yuru accepts his isolated home as peaceful, yet Asa's imprisonment raises questions that the village does not readily answer. Daemons of the Shadow Realm begins with the contrast between Yuru's simple existence and the secrets surrounding his sister, suggesting that the seemingly idyllic settlement hides truths about both the twins and the community that raised them.
