Biography

Luffy is the main character of ONE PIECE and captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. He values his crew above everything else and approaches the world with a simple, direct outlook that can make him seem childish while sometimes letting him see a situation more clearly than others. Luffy is relentlessly determined, optimistic, courageous, and quick to stand up for his friends.

His dream is to find One Piece and become King of the Pirates. He also possesses the powers of the Gomu Gomu no Mi, which gave his body rubber-like properties while taking away his ability to swim.

Story spoilers

Luffy later becomes one of the Four Emperors. His Devil Fruit is revealed to actually be the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, a Mythical Zoan, and his bounty reaches 3,000,000,000.
