Character profile
Jean Kirstein
ジャン・キルシュタインJean Kirschtein / Jeanie / Horse Face
Biography
Jean Kirstein is a supporting character in Attack on Titan and a graduate of the 104th Cadet Corps, where he ranked sixth. From Trost District, he initially joins the military with the goal of entering the Military Police and living safely within the Walls.
Jean is blunt, pragmatic, and initially hot-headed, with a tendency to speak his mind even when doing so creates conflict. Although cynical about humanity's chances against the Titans, he values his comrades' lives and has a strong tactical sense, allowing him to take charge when others lack a plan. Kishou Taniyama voices him in Japanese and Mike McFarland in English.
Story spoilers
Jean later joins the Survey Corps after being influenced by Marco Bott's words and witnessing the deaths of several comrades.
