Story spoilers
During his battle with Itadori, Chousou experiences a vision that convinces him Sukuna's vessel is one of his younger brothers. He turns against Mahito and the other cursed spirits after realizing they manipulated him into harming Itadori. Chousou is one of nine Death Painting Wombs born from a woman capable of bearing cursed-spirit children, and he identifies Noritoshi Kamo as a third parent because Kamo mixed his own blood into Chousou while experimenting on his pregnant mother.
