The Rising of the Shield Hero

Naofumi Iwatani is abruptly summoned from his ordinary life into a parallel world where he learns that he is one of four heroes chosen to wield legendary weapons. Their task is to prevent a prophesied destruction, but Naofumi receives the shield, regarded as the weakest of the four weapons. His situation deteriorates rapidly when betrayal leaves him alone and without money or support. With few people willing to trust him and only his shield to rely on, Naofumi must find a way to survive in an unfamiliar world while growing into the role of the Shield Hero. His struggle begins not from a position of admiration or strength, but from isolation and distrust.
