The Garden of Words

For high school student Takao Akizuki, rainy mornings offer a chance to skip school and sketch in a quiet garden. There he meets Yukari Yukino, an older woman who seems adrift in her own life. Their chance encounters repeat whenever it rains, and a comfortable relationship gradually forms despite the differences in their ages and circumstances. As the rainy season approaches its end, however, the weather that created their private meeting place also threatens to end it, leaving Takao to consider whether he can express what the relationship has come to mean to him.
