Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun

Chiyo Sakura finally gathers the courage to confess her feelings to classmate Umetarou Nozaki, only for him to completely misunderstand what she means. Unknown to Chiyo, Nozaki secretly works as a manga artist under a female pen name, so he interprets her confession as enthusiasm for his work and recruits her as an assistant.

Chiyo accepts because the job at least gives her more time with him. Her artistic usefulness soon extends beyond production work when Nozaki begins treating her as a resource for understanding romance from a girl's perspective. Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun builds its comedy around Chiyo's obvious affection colliding with Nozaki's persistent inability to recognize it.
