Kaiju No. 8

Kaiju No. 8 takes place in Japan, a country accustomed to frequent attacks by enormous monsters. The Japan Defense Force exists to neutralize these kaiju, and Kafka Hibino has long dreamed of joining its ranks. Instead, he works cleaning up kaiju corpses left behind after battles. When Kafka receives another opportunity to pursue the dream he has carried since childhood, his situation changes in the most unexpected way: he transforms into a kaiju himself. Now the man who wanted to fight monsters must somehow reconcile that ambition with the fact that he has become the very kind of creature the Defense Force is tasked with eliminating.
