I Want to Eat Your Pancreas

Haruki Shiga is an aloof student who prefers books to other people. His routine changes when, in a hospital waiting room, he finds a diary titled "Living with Dying." The book belongs to his cheerful and popular classmate Sakura Yamauchi, who confides in him that she has a serious pancreatic illness and only limited time left.

Haruki becomes one of the few people entrusted with Sakura's secret. Rather than allowing her illness to define every moment, Sakura is determined to continue living as normally and fully as she can. Her spontaneous behavior repeatedly draws the reserved Haruki outside his usual emotional distance. As the two spend more time together, the contrast between Sakura's openness and Haruki's isolation gradually changes the way he relates to her and to the world around him.
