High School of the Dead

High School of the Dead begins when a nightmarish virus transforms people into flesh-eating zombies and turns Fujimi High School into a deadly battleground. Students and surviving staff suddenly find themselves surrounded by infected classmates and teachers, with ordinary school life replaced by an immediate fight to stay alive. Escape depends on people from very different social groups learning to cooperate, because individual strength is not enough against the spreading outbreak. Their first challenge is simply getting out of the school while continuing to move, fight, and protect one another. Even if they succeed, there is no guarantee that a safe place still exists beyond the campus.
