Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting!

Ippo Makunouchi has spent years being bullied, running errands for classmates and wishing he could change without knowing how to begin. During another beating, boxer Mamoru Takamura intervenes and brings the injured Ippo to the Kamogawa boxing gym.

The unfamiliar surroundings fascinate Ippo, but he initially lacks the confidence to try boxing himself. After Takamura pushes him to hit a punching bag, something finally clicks. Ippo asks to be trained, only for Takamura to give him a seemingly impossible task with a one-week deadline. Driven by a new desire to become stronger for himself and his hardworking mother, Ippo trains relentlessly and takes his first steps toward the boxing world.
