Romance anime might be my favorite genre, but characters that are overtly flirty are actually a turn off for me. Why? Well, it might have to do with how the biggest flirts in anime used to be synonymous with being massive pervs. Yes, I am talking about the Master Roshis of this world but obviously, not all the lovestruck boys in anime are like that. Some can be genuinely charming in their wooing ways. 

But if you had to describe the biggest flirt in all of anime, how would you go about it? Well, personally it has to be someone that is shown to be very generous with their affection, falling in love nearly every episode. By that definition, I’d say no one is beating Brock from Pokémon, right? But then I also take a look at Sanji and the competition gets a little tougher. I mean, that man is in love with at least a dozen women at any given time!

But, I have to be honest, flirty anime characters can be super cute. I’m an Ouran High School Host Club fangirl, and Tamaki Suoh was my favorite character. And he was known for being a ladies man, flirting and charming his female schoolmates while still being a perfect gentleman. So, yes, not all the flirts in anime are created equal. But who is the biggest flirt in anime? Let’s figure that out in another round of Get Ranked!

8. Rangiku Matsumoto – Bleach 

Who says anime flirts have to be male? This is an equal gender household and mommy Rangiku had all of us under her spell. The lieutenant of the 10th Division was known for her carefree attitude, where she wanted nothing more than to drink and be praised for her beauty. And she wasn’t above using her feminine charms to get her way. Rangiku Matsumoto almost reminded me of a female Jiraiya, initially. 

7. Victor Nikiforov – Yuri!! On Ice 

Ah, Victor Nikiforov. If he wasn’t stealing your heart while on the ice, then you were obviously blind. Victor has immense confidence in his good looks and charms, which he eagerly uses to navigate both his fans and the rest of the skating world. He’s got everyone wrapped around his fingers, but he ranks lower solely because we all know this man stopped his flirtatious ways the moment he met one Yuuri Katsuki. The best flirts make for the best simps too, apparently.

6. Lust – Full Metal Alchemist 

I mean, it’s right there in her name. Lust came on the screen during an episode and Full Metal Alchemist fans were never the same. The Homunculus was known for her classic beauty and charming personality, using it to manipulate those around her. She had no qualms in flirting with the men around her, being known as a ‘subject of desire’ by many. Though, when she left her human persona of Solaris behind, you realized that she was a more sadistic lover than most.

5. Jiraiya – Naruto 

Jiraiya is one of those characters that skeeved me out when he first appeared in Naruto, but he really came into his own during Naruto Shippuden. It’s clear that Jiraiya was a massive flirt, finding a woman to go after in every place he traveled. And he used the knowledge of his romantic escapades to moonlight as a romance novelist while working for Konoha and being a legendary Sannin. Though, I still think his womanizing ways were just a coping mechanism for never getting with Tsunade Senju. But maybe that’s just the shipper in me.

4. Blair – Soul Eater

Blair happens to be unabashedly herself and that’s probably why she’s one of my favorite characters in Soul Eater. Like, she’s just super playful and fun, not taking anything too seriously. Blair knows she’s pretty and she doesn’t care for hiding her body from anyone. Which probably explains why she doesn’t shy away from flirting casually, though she clearly favors the protagonist, Soul, more than anyone. 

3. Brock – Pokémon

I think Brock is the first experience of a flirt in anime we all had, thanks to Pokémon. Like, even when I was only 9 years old and watching him make grandiose declarations of love to a Nurse Joy he had only just met, I knew the boy was a menace. But at the same time, it was all so hilarious. Because clearly, none of these women were even remotely interested in returning those feelings back. Like, at best he was being ignored. At worst, he was being punted into the stratosphere. But that didn’t stop Brock from shooting his shot whenever he got the chance.

2. Tamaki Suoh – Ouran High School Host Club

Tamaki Suoh, you will always be famous. Maybe I just have a thing for fancy blonde boys that are known for being utter heartthrobs (Howl Jenkins Pendragon this is your fault.), but Tamaki is the only flirt I’d get rizzed by. Like, the man was like a real life prince, with a taste for the finer things in life and impeccably good looks. And he always had flowery words to spare for every female visitor at the Host club. Like, how could you not squeal if The Tamaki told you you were the prettiest rose in a bouquet? 

1. Vinsmoke Sanji – One Piece

What can we say about Vinsmoke Sanji that hasn’t already been said? He’s probably the most prolific flirt in all of Shonen anime. Like, beautiful women are his favorite thing in the world, alongside the culinary arts, and he lives to woo them. Like, no joke, I think he’s tried talking up every woman we’ve come across in One Piece so far – and that series has been on air since the late 90s. But it’s also so fun seeing this otherwise confident fighter absolutely lose his shit when a pretty woman walks by. So yeah, ‘Black Leg’ Sanji is easily our biggest flirt.
