Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Part 2 does not have an officially announced release date. The September 2027 date circulating online is not confirmed by ufotable, Aniplex, the official Demon Slayer sites, Crunchyroll, or Sony Pictures Entertainment. What is confirmed is that Infinity Castle is a three-film theatrical project and that its second film is actively in production.
Several claims have gradually been combined online. A broad 2027 rumor began circulating during the first film's theatrical run, while later posts turned that estimate into the more specific September 2027 date. Neither the year nor the month has been formally announced.
Is Infinity Castle Part 2 Officially Dated?
No. There is no official Japanese premiere date, international theatrical date, release month, or confirmed year for the second Infinity Castle movie.
The Japanese movie site continues to focus on the released first film, Infinity Castle Chapter One: Akaza Returns, including its home-video release, screenings, collaborations, and franchise promotions. ufotable's works archive lists Chapter One under 2025 but does not list a dated second chapter for 2026 or 2027.
That does not mean the sequel is uncertain. Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini said in 2026 that the next movie was actively in production and that the studio wanted to deliver it as quickly as possible. The same update made clear that there was still no date to share.

Where Did the 2027 Rumor Come From?
The production partners never announced 2027 as a confirmed release year.
The rumor gained traction around the end of 2025 and beginning of 2026 when reports claimed that the remaining Infinity Castle films would arrive in 2027 and 2029. Crunchyroll then clarified that it had not disclosed those windows and that claims presenting them as confirmed were speculative. The years were removed from the report that had helped spread them.
There are understandable reasons fans continue to discuss 2027. The sequel is in production, ufotable lists it among future projects, and a 2026 theatrical premiere never received an announcement. Those details can support an estimate, but they cannot turn it into a release schedule.
What about September 2027?
The September claim has even less support. There is no official announcement identifying September 2027 as a Japanese or international release month.
September may look plausible because Chapter One opened in the United States and Canada on September 12, 2025. That was an international distribution date, not its original Japanese opening. The first film debuted in Japan on July 18, followed by staggered international dates across August and September.
Assuming the sequel will repeat the same pattern is still an assumption. Part 2 could use a different Japanese month, a different international delay, or a different North American slot.

The trilogy announcement established a global theatrical arrangement involving Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment, excluding Japan and selected Asian territories. Chapter One followed that structure, with Crunchyroll and Sony handling much of its international release.
